At A Warmer Day, we are always looking for volunteers just like you!
Our volunteers come from all walks of life. The only requirement is time and a passion for helping those in need. Here are just a few of the tasks for which we depend on our team of wonderful volunteers…
- Coat Distributions: A great deal goes into each of our distributions. We need volunteers who can help organize the effort, keep things moving smoothly and of course ensure that everyone gets the warm winter clothing they need. We also need assistance with ensuring that everyone gets on and off of our truck safely and helping those who may need additional assistance.
- Donation Pick Up: We have a large network of donation drop off locations throughout southeast Nebraska. We are always looking for volunteers who can use their personal vehicles to pick up donations in their area and bring them to one of our facilities. Our pick up volunteers work when they are available; setting their own hours and distance limits.
- Social Media Manager: A Warmer Day depends heavily on social media to get the word out about our mission. Social media managers help us by posting to and managing our extensive social media networks. This includes posting about our activity, upcoming distributions, recognizing our sponsors, promoting our events or anything else that may further our mission. Social media managers must have strong knowledge of at least one social media platform and time to post as frequently as needed. Those with web design experience may also be asked to assist with improvements of our website.
- Administrative Assistant: Managing our organization is the responsibility of our board of directors, however this would be impossible without the help of our volunteers. Administrative Assistants assist with marketing, event planning, administrative tasks, telemarketing, distributions, creating flyers and much more. This position requires some organizational skills and a passion to help others.
